You burned out on the job months ago and you’re looking
for a vacation that is a little bit out of the ordinary. You aren’t really
interested in another trip to an amusement park or even a national park.
Why not combine your love of watching or even playing
sports with seeing the sights in another country? Most tour operators include
non-sports activities for your spouse or other traveling partner if they aren’t
as into the sporting activity as you are.
One sports tour to consider rugby tours or rugby holidays. There are tour operators that offer children the opportunity to
practice their rugby skills in another country as well as tour operators that
offer you the opportunity to watch world-class rugby being played between high-rated
teams.
Rugby Class (rugbyclass.com) offers day and residential
coaching programs throughout England for children and adolescents (ages 8-18)
during the Easter and summer holidays. The venues for these programs are
Ampleforth College, Millfield School, and Wellington College. The programs
don’t include any sightseeing tours or other non-sports activities. Prices
range from 99 GBP ($154.95 USD) to 279 GBP ($436.68 USD) depending on the
program, program length, and program location.
If you’re an adult who enjoys watching rugby being
played, consider the tours offered by The Sporting Traveller, ITC Sports, and
Adventure Sports Holidays.
The Sporting Traveller (thesportingtraveller.com) offers
tours for the RBS 6 Nations 2013. These matches are played throughout early
2013 (February and March) in England, Scotland, Italy, and France. At the end
of March (the 29th through the 31st) go to Hong Kong for
the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens, and in June/July 2013 follow the British and Lions
to Australia.
Adventure Sports Holidays (adventuresportsholidays.com)
offers tours to Latvia through the company Riga Out There. The price is quite
inexpensive (35 Euro) but this doesn’t include anything other than one match in
Riga, Latvia.
ITC Sports (itcsports.co.uk) offers premium match tickets
as well as excursions to popular attractions when you aren’t watching rugby
matches. If your partner isn’t as interested in rugby as you are, the concierge
team can set up a spa treatment or sightseeing tour to keep them happy while
you enjoy the exhilaration and passion of the rugby matches. All tours are
escorted by experienced tour managers.
Consider going to the rugby world cup 2013, hosted by
England and Wales. Matches will also be
held in France and Ireland. There will be fourteen teams playing matches during
the world cup 2013, and thirteen of them will be trying to defeat the defending
champions from New Zealand.
